“THE PRACTICAL MUSICIAN”
The Bayimba Academy, herewith would like to invite you to audition for “the practical musician” The 3rd Bayimba Music Training Programme. The auditions will take place at the National Theatre, Kampala Green room on the 25TH October 2013- Kampala Uganda. Starting at 9am – 5pm.
The auditions will be carried out by Kaz Kasozi (Music Director of Bayimba Foundation) assisted by a panel Judge Anita Assasira.
The auditions will focus on practical Musical skills; capacity to hear and repeat melodies & rhythms on given instrument; and this will be highly competitive. Being in band, Group, trio , duo or choir is advantageous but not crucial. Please come prepared with one or two songs/ instruments that you can sing / play best.
If selected you will join for 3 weeks a study team of 20 Musicians who will be taken through a music training program designed to appeal to both the novice and the practicing musicians identified with a need to develop their musical skills so as to capitalize methods of learning , creating , documenting and exploiting Music . The training will allow you to use body percussion; rhythmic reading & writing; an introduction to Jazz Harmony; analyzing skills development; improvisation and much more.
